We’ve detailed the steps on installing mods and CC below. (You cannot install or use mods and CC on consoles.) Our The Sims 4 guide will walk you through how to install CC and mods for both Windows and Mac. Installing them can be complicated if you’re new to modding games, but The Sims 4 makes it fairly easy. It also makes it a lot easier to find mods or CC when it's time to update them.If you’re playing The Sims 4 on Windows or Mac, you can customize the game using custom content (CC) and mods. ![]() If the creator has tagged their thumbnail, it's even easier. It's already narrowed down to the 500mb of tops. This way, I'm not digging clumsily through the 8.5 gigs of files I have looking for 1 shirt. If I put my sim in a shirt and it glitches, I know exactly where to start looking (\Mods\CAS\Clothes\Tops in my case). ![]() This makes it really easy to find things. For example: \Mods\CAS\Clothes\Fullbody\Pipco\all their fullbody cc - you can't go deeper than 5 folders here. Some of them (clothes for example) are then split by type (so for clothes, I have Tops, Bottoms, Fullbody, Shoes, Swimsuits, Sets). So in CAS, I have Clothes, Hair, Accessories, Skins, Tattoos, SkinDetails. The rest, I organize by broad category: CAS, BBObjects, NonScriptMods, Careers, Aspirations, Traits, Harvestables. So, for example: \Mods\LittleMsSam\all the files go here - you can't do \Mods\LittleMsSam\ModName\files go here All of mine are organized like this: \Mods\ModderName\. ![]() I do mine like this: (back up your Mods folder before you start moving things!) Most people (from the 2 surveys I've seen) organize theirs by creator.
